Who We Are
Clean Yangon is an independent, community-based organization founded on 10 May 2017 in Yangon by a collective of young volunteers and environmental advocates.
What began as a grassroots movement to promote cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and civic awareness has grown into a committed network of individuals working together to contribute positively to society.

Early years
In its early years, Clean Yangon focused on:

2019 · Recognition
Citizen of Burma Special Award
In 2019, the Clean Yangon Campaign was selected to receive the Special Award of Citizen of Burma at the 10th annual Citizen of Burma “Pyi-Thu-Gone-Yi” Awarding Ceremony, in recognition of its contributions across social, educational, health, and humanitarian sectors.

After 2021 · Humanitarian focus
Following the changes in Myanmar after 2021, Clean Yangon transitioned its focus toward humanitarian and community support work, responding to the needs of conflict-affected and displaced communities.
What We Do Today
Today, Clean Yangon operates as a humanitarian organization working closely with local communities and partners, particularly in conflict-affected areas.
Our work focuses on:
- Supporting access to basic healthcare
- Providing food and nutrition assistance
- Strengthening education support
- Promoting psychosocial and morale support
- Supporting community resilience and livelihoods
