Food Distribution Program
Delivering vital food supplies, including rice and oil, to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and families facing severe food insecurity.
Following the 2021 military coup, the ongoing revolution and armed conflict have displaced many communities, significantly limiting access to food and basic necessities. Clean Yangon continues to provide humanitarian support by ensuring access to essential food supplies for displaced populations.
What We Have Done
- Conducted regular monthly food distribution across 15 displacement camps.
- Supported at least 50 households per camp, ensuring consistent access to food.
- Provided essential food items including rice, cooking oil, salt, canned fish, and beans.
- Delivered additional nutritional support for children and elderly individuals.
Cost & Transparency
- Prior to 2024: approximately 50,000 MMK per household food packet.
- From 2024 onwards: approximately 70,000 MMK per household food packet due to increased commodity costs.
Monthly Capacity
- 750 households per month (approximately 3,750 people).
- 4,500 pyi of rice, 750 liters of oil, 3,750 cans of fish, and 3,750+ nutrition items monthly.
Estimated Total Impact (Over ~60 Months)
- Conducted more than 900 distribution operations.
- Supported over 45,000 household instances.
- Reached more than 225,000 people (cumulative support instances).
Ongoing Work
We continue direct food support in Karenni State and extend assistance to central Myanmar through local partnerships. Emergency response is also prioritized for newly displaced families.
