LoTaYa Program
Promoting self-reliance through micro-revolving funds and livelihood support, helping families start small businesses and achieve financial stability.
The "LoTaYa" community fundraising shops established by Clean Yangon are designed to create a more sustainable support system for families living in displacement camps.
In the context of the ongoing revolution and conflict, the program aims to move beyond dependency on external donations by encouraging community participation, local management, and collective responsibility.
What We Have Done
- Supported camp communities in managing and operating small fundraising shops.
- Encouraged participation in local trade, management, and fundraising activities.
- Helped create emergency funding support within displacement camps.
- Strengthened self-confidence and community resilience through active participation.
Impact
Since its launch in 2024, the LoTaYa Program has successfully expanded to more than 20 community shop locations.
The program contributes to supporting basic livelihood needs within camps, increasing community participation and ownership, and strengthening long-term self-reliance and sustainability.
Ongoing Work
Clean Yangon plans to continue expanding the LoTaYa Program to additional areas with growing needs.
A new fundraising shop is also being planned to support the long-term sustainability of the Yaung Ni Social Development Training School, helping fund youth education, vocational learning, and community development initiatives.
